China & Japan

China and Japan – a mix of the old and the new, of past and present. In a weird echo of the cultural revolution China is bulldozing the old historical parts of Beijing to make way for glass fronted malls and coffee shop plazas, yet outside of the capital ancient China lives on.
Japan manages to fuse the two as small ladies in Kimonos shuffle down the street past ancient shrines, tattooed Yakuza on motorcycles and briefcase carrying salarymen all surrounded by neon lights and techno gadgetry.
