North Korea
North Korea is perhaps one of the most isolated places on the planet. State control is used to perpetuate a personality cult around the late president Kim Il Sung and to a lesser extent his son, the current president Kim Jeong Il. Nearly all works of art and music glorify one or other of the presidents. As North Koreans live in an information vacum their view of the world is strictly governed by state media.
The annual Aririang mass games are the embodiment of North Korean national pride, praising both Kim Il Sung and Kim Jeong Il as well as the Korean Workers Party. The Guiness World record breaking games epitomise the idea of the nation working together as a group and eschew individuality.
